Weather Policy
The Meadows Soccer Complex is run by the City of Tallahassee’s Parks and Recreation department. The facility is open and available for use until the fields are deemed unplayable due to standing water OR unsafe due to lightning detected or anticipated continuing within 8 miles. The City of Tallahassee currently uses the AccuWeather SkyGuard System, which provides staff with lighting advisories (15 miles – play may continue) and warnings (8 miles – anyone onsite at the park or facility location is encouraged to seek appropriate shelter). Play will resume when the warning expires. When a lightning advisory or waring is issued, a start and end time is provided to field managers.
TSA does our best to adjusting to weather forecasts, but the weather is often unpredictable. All TSA weather updates will be communicated through captains. If a warning is issued while we are playing, the field manager will use an airhorn to communicate all players must leave the fields and seek shelter.
